tallNew York, May 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The United States has a new ‘tallest man’. Igor Vovkovinskiy from Minnesota has won the title of the “tallest living man in America”. The 27 year old stands tall at 7 feet and 8.33 inches. A representative of Guinness World Records said in a statement that Igor Vovkovinskiy has broken the record previously held by George Bell of Virginia. He was measured at least three inches shorter than the Minnesota man.

Igor Vovkovinskiy was earlier spotted on “The Dr. Oz Show” where he was officially pronounced as the tallest man in the US. Speaking on behalf of the Guinness World Records, Danny Girton Jr said in a statement that they had kept the name of Igor Vovkovinskiy on their list ever since he came into the limelight with the intention of measuring his height. The man from Minnesota had to pass through very strict guidelines before his name could be rounded upon as the country’s tallest man. Igor Vovkovinskiy passed out with flying colors in the tests assigned by the Guinness World Records and is now a part of history.

According to the record books, Igor Vovkovinskiy is a little behind in the list of the world’s tallest men. The tallest man in the world today is Sultan Kosen who lives in Turkey and towers up to 8 feet and 1 inch. The 27 year old Igor Vovkovinskiy from Rochester, Minnesota has claimed the crown of America’s tallest man on NBC but it has been reported that he is originally from Ukraine. It seems that the new record holder is a big supporter of President Barack Obama and has been seen in many presidential rallies in the past.
