New Girl Scout cookie being launched

Washington, Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Following the massive recall of Girl Scout cookies about two years back, consumers are anxiously waiting for the release of the 100th anniversary special edition. The Girl Scout will be marking their centenary anniversary this year and the name of the cookie for the year has been named Savannah Smiles.

The makers say the name of the treat was inspired by the home of the founder of the Girl Scout, Juliette Gordon Low. This time, the Girl Scout hopes the cookie will be good enough to mark the special occasion in the history of the organization.

In 2010, the Girl Scout was forced to recall several Lemon Chalet Crème batches after consumer complaints of foul taste. The cookie makers insisted that the treats were wholesome and could be consumed but that did very little to change the public opinion and eventually the production was stopped.

Despite the fact that the cookie went wrong in 2010, it has not been the like that always. Lemonades, the shortbread cookies from the Girl Scout in 2006, has been so successful that it is still in production.

The Savannah Smiles will be made available to the public on the anniversary date.
