shortest man Katmandu, Feb 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The shortest man in Nepal stands tall at just 56 cm (which is barely 22 inches). He is all set to travel to Europe in an apparent bid to be recognized as the world’s shortest living person. Khagendra Thapa Magar is going to Europe with his father and a supporter to Italy, where they will file a claim with the Guinness World Records, to be recognized as the world’s shortest man. Presently the title of the world’s shortest man is held by China’s He Pingping, who is 73cm (29in) tall.

And this is not the first time that they have applied to the Guinness World Records for the title of the world’s shortest man. When Khagendra Thapa Magar was a teenager (14 years, to be specific) then also they had applied to the Guinness World Records, for the title of the world’s shortest man. But at that time, Khagendra Thapa Magar’s claim was rejected, as he was only 14 years of age, and it was expected that he might grow more. But now he is 18 years of age, so they are traveling to Italy to stake a claim to the title of the world’s shortest man. Magar’s father said to the media in Katmandu that they are going to appear on an Italian television show, where they would reveal more details about his bid for the coveted title.
