khagendra Kathmandu, Feb 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Khagendra Thapa Magar is the shortest man in Nepal, at just 22 inches or 56 centimeters, and he is trying to become the World’s shortest man as well. He left Nepal, and is all his way to Europe, in order to be recognized as the world’s shortest man. Prior to traveling to Europe for his record to be officially recognized, he had written to the Guinness Book of World Records in October 2009, but since he didn’t receive any response from their side, so he was left with no alternative but to travel to Europe and campaign for his record.

Khagendra Thapa Magar’s family had also contacted the Guinness Book of World Records when he was just 14 years old, but at that time his bid was rejected, because the Guinness authorities thought that he was still a teenager, and there were chances that he might still grow vertically. However he recently turned 18, so Khagendra Thapa Magar’s family and friends started afresh to enlist him as the world’s shortest man.” We are going to Italy to try to record his name in the Guinness Book of World Records,” his father, Rup Bahadur Thapa Magar, said to the media in Katmandu, prior to boarding the flight.

While in Europe they are thinking about putting in an appearance on the Italian television show, and enlist support for his claim. Presently the title of the world’s shortest man is held by China’s He Pingping, who is 73cm (29in) tall.
