Nepali Boy Soon To Get World’s Shortest Man Title

Kathmandu, Nepal, Feb 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Khagendra Thapa Magar, the Nepali boy who is eager for the title of world’s shortest man will have to wait for 6 more months in order to find a place in the Guinness Book of World’s record. A group from the Guinness Book took measurements of his height and weight. Initially it was reported he is 20 inches tall. However, the team from Guinness Book found out that he is 22.04 inches tall and he weighs 5 kilograms. His current measurement taken by the group of Guinness Book however, does not hamper his position. There is another contender from India called Jyoti, she is 23 inches tall. She is also fighting for the title. So far it is clear that Khagendra Thapa Magar is going to register his name in the Guinness Book of World’s record as soon as he turns 18.
Khagendra Thapa Magar is in Rome right now. He is accompanied by his father Roop Bahadur. Khagendra Thapa Magar and his family have been trying to get his name in the Guinness Book ever since he was 14. However, their appeal was dismissed then on the ground that he still has a chance of growth. If Khagendra Thapa Magar’s height does not increase until he is 18, he will get the title. At present, He Pingping from China holds the record of the world’s shortest man, with his 29.5 inches height. Prior to that, an Indian held the record who was 22.5 inches.
Khagendra Thapa Magar was born in September 24, 1992. Though Khagendra Thapa Magar is abnormally short for some unknown cause, his 12-year-old brother Mahesh Thapa Magar reportedly has normal height.
