Negotiations Work In Favor, BART Strike Averted

Thankfully, the “terror inducing” strike that was all set to hit the multitudes of commuters on Monday, has been averted.
The BART strike has been held off, after talks between the specific authorities fell in place. If the situation had not taken a turn for the better, it would have deal a very crippling blow to the whole of the San Francisco Bay Area travelers, early on the morning of Monday.
The final outcome of the talks between the management and a union yielded positive results, as both parties reached a common agreement just hours before the commuter rail strike was to hit its set deadline, according to the officials. This news allows all the daily commuters to heave a sigh of relief, as anything to the contrary would have turned the area in to a chaos filled battle ground.
Jesse Hunt, the president of the Amalgamated Transit Union local 1555 said, “We’ve worked to an agreement that we believe is equitable. We’re pleased to announce this tentative agreement. Our members will be working tomorrow. Trains will run.”
Hunt was flanked by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, BART Board President Thomas Blalock, Rep. Barbara Lee and other such local eminent personalities and elected officials, when the announcement averting the strike was delivered to the nerve wrecked public, shortly before the clock ticked to 7 p.m. The public announcement was made at 22nd Street and Broadway in downtown Oakland, the same venue where the negotiations have been going on ever since the 1st of April.
However, the pact must now be ratified by the 900 odd operators and ticket agents.
