sayaJuly 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Some unseen photographs of highly acclaimed nature photographer Ansel Adams would now be available for public viewing after negatives of the photos were found by a Fresno, California-based painter who bought it at a garage sales about ten years ago. The painter Rick Norsigian had purchased two small boxes from a garage sales for a mere $45 many years ago owing to his search for antiques. However, the worth of boxes which contains around 65 negatives of pictures taken by Ansel Adams is now estimated to be somewhere around $200 million.

Before the negatives were discovered, experts presumed that it had been destroyed in a darkroom fire which happened way back in the year 1937 in which as many as 5,000 plates were completed damaged. It is being speculated that the photos were taken in the early phases of Ansel Adams’ illustrious career, sometime between 1919 to early 1930’s, which was much before the iconic photographer received recognition for his talent. However, no information has been forthcoming till now about how the negatives of the photos made its way to garage sale from the renowned photographer’s much-coveted collection.

David W. Streets, an appraiser and art dealer described the newly found pictures as the missing link of the celebrated photographer and history as well as his career. The art dealer further explained that the photos would give the large number of ardent Ansel Adams fans the opportunity to evaluate the evolution of his eye, his talent as well as his gift and legacy. Meanwhile, the photos would be unveiled at the Beverly Hills, California art gallery of David W. Streets on Tuesday.
