BEATRICE, NEBRASKA (BNO NEWS) — Nebraska police on Friday said a 22-month-old boy was wrapped and attached to a wall using duct tape during a New Year’s Eve party in Beatrice last month.

The mother, a 17-year-old juvenile whose name was not released, and 18-year-old Corde Honea, her live-in boyfriend, have been arrested for felony child abuse.

According to an investigation by officers of the Beatrice Police Department, the mother and Honea attached the toddler to a wall for entertainment during a party on New Year’s Eve. On other occasions, his hands were duct taped making eating or drinking impossible. Further investigation also revealed that the toddler had been repeatedly locked in a dark closet to discipline him.

During a search of the house in Beatrice, at 610 South 10th Street, two stolen guns and numerous items of the drug paraphernalia were also recovered. Honea has, besides the felony child abuse charge, also been charged with possession of stolen guns.

The guns are believed to have been stolen in a Gage County burglary that Honea was previously arrested for and was out on bond at the time of his arrest.
