Nebraska man sentenced for meth distribution

OMAHA, NEBRASKA (BNO NEWS) – A man was sentenced to 151 months in prison (12.5 years) for his conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine in Buffalo County, Nebraska, prosecutors announced on Thursday.

A drug house in Buffalo County was being monitored by the Nebraska State Patrol when two vehicles left with the troopers following shortly after. The troopers measured the vehicles speed at 57 mph in a 50 mph zone. The vehicles pulled over as commanded but one tried to fled before the officer could make contact.

The driver, later identified as Reynolds, threw a bag out of the window and continued driving. He stopped his car and proceeded at foot he was caught and arrested after a short foot chase. Other police troopers were told about the location where Reynolds threw the bag. From such bag, 23.4 grams of methamphetamine that tested 75% pure were recovered.

Further investigation and declaration of five witnesses attributed more than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine to Reynolds dating back to August 2007.
