Nov 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The deer hunting season is about to begin in Nebraska this year and the hunters are gearing up for the task. It will commence on Saturday and will carry on till Nov. 21. It has been reported that in Southeastern part of Nebraska the Deer population is very good for the hunters. This year more permits have been given compared to the earlier years. The pleasant atmosphere can also prove to be a positive factor for the deer hunters. Of course a light snowfall will make the situation even more favorable for the deer hunters. The hunting season plays a role in keeping the number of deers in check and prevent over population.
The Nebraska Game and Parks authorities have said that since the deer hunt season is starting the hunters need to be mindful about the safety aspect. As a matter of fact the state does not get too many instances of accidents on the hunting season as the majority of hunters know the safety rules. To evade miscommunication while hunting the deer hunters should maintain a healthy rapport with the land owners. Apart from the hunters the motorist also need to be cautious as during this season the deer herds often appear on highways.
This year almost 75000 hunters are going to take part in the deer hunting season and a lot of women have also joined. This is a heartening development as deer hunting used to be a sport for the men. The deer population of Nebraska is now estimated at 300000 and this according to the stater officials is excessive.
