NATO prepares for major offensive in southern Afghanistan
February 4th, 2010 - 11:43 pm ICT by BNO NewsLONDON (BNO NEWS) — NATO is preparing for a major offensive in southern Afghanistan, the British Ministry of Defense said on Thursday.
The Ministry said elements of the Royal Welsh Guards, Grenadier Guards and Scots Guards have taken part in an air and ground operation to the south of Nad e-Ali in Helmand province since early Wednesday.
The NATO-ISAF operation is being conducted with Afghan National Security Forces and is part of the preparation for a major ISAF offensive known as Operation Moshtarak.
