National Weather Service Issues Tornado Warning

tornadoStreator, June 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday night the Central Illinois was hit with severe storm along with tornado that caused damage to the homes in and around the Dwight, Ransom, Streator and the Lostant areas. Reports claim that power supplies to the homes were badly affected by the storm.

However, as of yet no reports of human casualty has been reportedly to the police. Apart from the parts listed above, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office has mentioned to media source that tornado touched down in Illinois’s Elmwood as well.

The damages in Streator and Dwight were confirmed to media sources reportedly by the National Weather Service in Romeoville. The damages in the southern side of Streator were reported by an official of the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department.

The National Weather Service on Saturday issued tornado warning to many other counties. Though initially the NWS issued warning till 11:45pm for Washtenaw County and 12:15 am for the Southern Wayne County, the tornado watch time was extended till 5am Sunday as the weather condition remained critical.

Apart from these two areas the tornado watch was also issued for Ann Arbor, Canton Township, Lincoln Park, Dearborn, Livonia, Taylor and Westland. The National Weather Service on Saturday at around 11:31pm indicated that a storm that was located near Flat Rock and moving towards east can turn into a tornado.

Apart from the widespread tornado warning that was issued for many parts of the United States, the National Weather Service also issued heavy rain and flood watch to many parts of United States.

The weather condition will remain critical on Sunday morning.
