coffee-day30 Sep, (THAINDIAN NEWS) September 29, Wednesday was celebrated as a national coffee day with many places offering discount or even free coffee as a part of the celebrations. Coffee lovers had a gala time yesterday as they did not have to pay as much as they usually did for a cup of coffee. One could also try the coffee from many different places without it affecting their pockets much. Yesterday could not have been a happier time for coffee drinkers. The origin of the concept is not known but it can be suspected that a mad coffee lover must have come up with the idea. Nevertheless the day is seen as a means of promoting the coffee business by many coffee shops.

Dunkin Donuts happened to be one of the most active companies that were taking part in the celebrations. They even operated a campaign ” Ultimate Dunkin Donuts Coffee Fan Contest” where one could grab a free cup of coffee and participate in a contest to become their number one fan on facebook. Some blog was reported to have published the information that the winner would get sixty months of coffee free and a tour of their labs along with a trip to Costa Rica, this privileges though have not been confirmed yet.

Many other small chains were also participating in the event and while some offered coffee for free others gave a discount or a free cup of coffee on the purchase of some other item. Dunkin Donuts are said to be offering a small part of their sales to Special Olympics.
