Nov 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Natalee Holloway has been missing since 2005. Till date, the police could not trace her. However, recently, the police have discovered a jaw bone in a beach in Aruba, that reportedly belongs to this Alabama teenager.
WSFA News 12 in Alabama said that the initial examination of the bone states that the bone belongs to Natalee Holloway. A further DNA test will now establish the truth. This jaw bone was discovered on November 12, in a beach near Phoenix, by a tourist. This was the place where Natalee Holloway went for a high school trip about five years back. Since that day, she went missing. Natalee Holloway was declared dead and it was speculated that she was murdered. A few reports say that a Dutchman named Joran Van der Sloot was with Natalee Holloway on the night she went missing. Although he is considered as one of the suspects, no charges were ever brought against him, due to lack of enough substantial proves. This Dutchman had several previous crime records and is now serving a sentence in Peru, for murdering a woman there. The investigators are under the impression that this jawbone would help them in solving the five year old mystery.
The age of the bone could not be determined yet, but it is expected that the bone had held intact teeth. If the DNA reports show that this bone belongs to Natalee Holloway, then it would be the first evidence of her death. Netherlands Forensic Institute spokeswoman Inge Oevering has announced that the result of the test will be declared soon. However, it was not revealed how much time it would exactly consume.
