Nassau County, New York police investigate vandalism to dozens of cars

NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — The Nassau County, New York Police Department is investigating a series of vandalism which took place between late Saturday and early Sunday.

The incidents took place in Merrick, Bellmore and Wantagh between 11 p.m. EDT and 5 a.m. EDT. Police said the windows or windshields of more than 50 cars were broken with what appeared to be a blunt object.

“Similar acts of vandalism were also reported in North Bellmore and North Merrick during the same time period,” said Detective D’Angio of the Nassau County Police Department.

Police are asking anyone with information about these crimes to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
