London, Oct 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A former stripper at Stringfellows has filed wrongful dismissal against the lap dance club for what she calls “wrongful dismissal.”

The club however disagrees with her claim. The club says that Nadine was not an employee of the club so she cannot claim wrongful dismissal.

Nadine Quashie, 28 years old claims that the club stripped its strippers of their cash. She alleged in the writ that the club took 25% commission from the wages the strippers made each night. She further revealed that the club took 65 pounds and 15 pounds from their nightly wage for “house fee” and “tip out” fee respectively.

The stripper was sacked from the club on allegations of misconduct. Her case is a landmark case in Britain because this is the first time in the country’s history that such an action has been taken against a club by a stripper.

She chronicled a long list of deduction and punishments that exist at the club for the club’s strippers. She alleges that strippers were required to perform for free “on the hour every hour” and they were fined some 50-pounds if they failed to perform.

However lawyers of the club maintain that Nadine’s claims were untrue during an employment hearing in London. The club insists that the dancer was a freelancer who performed at the club for a fee.

The stripper was making some 1,265-pounds each night while working as strip dancer at the club.
