Multiple charges for Massena, New York man after accident
February 9th, 2010 - 3:30 am ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )MASSENA, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — A Massena, New York man was arrested and charged for driving under drugs influence and property damage after a car crash, state police said on Monday.
Francis Browning, 46, was traveling south on SR-56 when he crossed into the northbound lane and exited the east shoulder of the roadway, striking a snowbank and then a utility pole.
Witnesses said Browning had been weaving into oncoming traffic before the accident occurred.
Browning said that he had taken a larger than prescribed dose of muscle relaxant medication and fell asleep while driving. He was issued tickets for Failure to Keep Right, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Notify DMV of Address Change.
Browning is expected in the Town of Norfolk Court on March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
