Move Over Snuggie! It’s a Burka, It’s a Blanket, It’s….Snazzy Napper!

Aug 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to ‘WSAV News 3’ from Savannah, Georgia, a new product is out which could rival the ‘Snuggie’. It is a new blanket called the “Snazzy Napper” which wraps around the face and body of the consumer.

In a post from WSAV on Facebook, the item, which reminded the writer of a burka could soon replace the ever popular “Snuggie”, which is a blanket that greatly resembles someone wearing a thick long robe on backwards.

Many readers had to watch the video (embedded below) of the Snazzy Napper ad several times, not believing what they were seeing, but the item seemed to be a real product, for sale in the United Stated of America.

The smaller sized Snazzy Napper covers the face, and chest, with a nose hole cut in the front for easy breathing, made to block out light so that a person can nap in public, such as on an airplane. The smaller or “Original Snazzy Napper” sells for $14.99 plus shipping and handling.

The “Extra Large Snazzy Napper” sells for $24.99 and is much more like the Snuggie. It not only covers the face and blocks out light, but serves as a blanket as well. Some comments on the WSAV Facebook post compared the item to a burka, or a Halloween costume. One person stated “Yeah, it looks like a burka…not to mention I really don’t feel comfortable blindfolding myself and falling asleep in public!!” Others point out the problems that so called “mouth breathers” would face.

The product even comes with a convenient pocket for your cell phone, keys, and such. One comment stated, “I mean, if you are distracted by a sliver of light peeking through your peppers, do you really think your vibrating (or ringing) cell phone isn’t going to cause some serious interruption?”

But a few readers found it to be an interesting product. “Well, I do usually sleep with an eye mask, or whatever they’re called, (I get much better sleep, by the way, with the light blocked), and have used it on cross-country bus trips, so I can see how this would be a good thing while traveling. It DOES look very silly, I agree, but so does the snuggie–I’ll bet they sell A LOT of them, (I know my daughters will all want one!). :)”
