Mother of al-Zawahiri dies
December 29th, 2009 - 12:28 pm ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — An extremist website reports that the mother of Al-Qaeda’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, died last week.
al-Zawahiri’s mother, Umayma Abdul Wahab, died at her home on Sunday, December 20, according to the statement. “[We] mourn the death of the great educator and viruous mother, the mother of Shaykh Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Ms. Umayma Abdul Wahab,” it said.
The statement also asked Allah to provide al-Zawahiri’s family and friends with support during their mourning.
A cause of death was not announced, and BNO News was not able to independently confirm her passing. However, a Washington-based group that monitors terrorist messages, the SITE Intelligence Group, recently also reported her death.
