Candler, March 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The comments written by a teacher on his student’s notebook is costing him a lot as his way of teaching is now being put under the scanner. The mother of a North Carolina Middle school student has complained that the teacher has twice written on her daughter’s homework notebook a statement that calls her a “loser”. The girl on whose notebook the remarks were made studies in the 6th grade.

Patty Clement said that the remarks by the accused teacher, Rex Roland, on her daughter’s notebook send a wrong discouraging message. She also said that she had complained to the school administration before, making them aware of the teacher’s act. The Enka Middle School teacher has however reportedly said that this is a part of his joking with the students of his class. The statements were reportedly not made on serious note. The teacher has also been defended by some parents. Rex Roland according to the guardians teaches well in the class. However, Patty Clement maintained that such a teacher should be removed from the school.

The teacher has on his part apologized for the comments, and according to reports, the girl has been shifted from the class of Rex Roland. According to reports some teachers when asked about the comments said that they did not find the comment humorous. Others said that a teacher should find ways to praise a student rather than writing discouraging comments in the notebook. The school authority on its part has marked the incident as a personal issue.
