More Than 90,000 Confidential War Documents Leaked In “Wikileaks”

afghanJuly 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Wikileaks is once again hitting the headlines. It has recently made public on its website around 98,000 confidential classified documents related to the Afghanistan war strategy of United States and its coalition members who have been working in Afghanistan. The documents have been leaked not only to the Wikileaks, but also to other reputed news sources that have come up with the reports in public. The reports not only point to the chaotic state of affair that has been going on in Afghanistan, but also reveal some details about the coalition members who have been helping the United States in the foreign land.

The leaked documents have kept in front of the whole world the details of the U.S. military operations in the last six years in Afghanistan. These include information on the number of civilian deaths caused by the military operations. The information points out that more than hundred innocent people have been killed during the insurgency. According to the documents, while 195 civilians have been killed improperly, 174 have suffered fatal wounds. Due to the secret efforts of coalition forces to “Kill or capture” senior Taliban and Al-Qaeda leaders, many of the innocent motorcyclists or drivers were shot at first sight on suspicion of being suicide bomber. The documents also provide evidence that the Afghanistan insurgency carried out by United States is being supported and fueled by nations like Iran and Pakistan.

The latest leak has become a matter of concern and shame for the White House that has condemned the leak and ordered an investigation to find out the source behind the leak. A White House spokesman has mentioned to media sources that the leak has made United States and its Coalition members vulnerable to attacks.
