Moderate earthquake shakes Chile’s capital
April 5th, 2010 - 1:10 pm ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )SANTIAGO (BNO NEWS) — A moderate earthquake shook Chile’s capital on Sunday evening, more than a month after an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the country’s Maule Region, witnesses and officials said.
The moderate earthquake at 11.32 p.m. local time, for which a magnitude was not immediately released, was felt widely throughout the capital, Santiago. Lower intensity shaking was also observed in the country’s Valparaiso, O’Higgins and Maule regions, according to the National Emergency Office.
It said there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
