Moderate earthquake shakes buildings in Guatemala City
March 21st, 2010 - 1:59 pm ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )GUATEMALA CITY (BNO NEWS) — A moderate earthquake struck Guatemala on Saturday, seismologists said, but there were no reports of damage, according to local media.
There were reports of shaking in Guatemala City and in the Mexican cities of Tapachula and Tuxtla Gutierrez, according to witnesses.
The earthquake struck at 3.55 p.m. local time had a preliminary magnitude of 5.3, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered about 175 kilometers (110 miles) north-northwest of Guatemala City, at a depth of 82 kilometers (51.2 miles).
