Moderate earthquake rattles southern California - seismologists
December 11th, 2010 - 8:17 pm ICT by BNO NewsLOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — A moderate 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck southern California on early Saturday morning, the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said.
The 5.0-magnitude earthquake at 4.52 a.m. PST was centered approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) southeast of El Centro, a city in Imperial County near the border with Mexico.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
