Mocksville, NC pair indicted for narcotics and firearms violations

GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA (BNO NEWS) – Two residents of Mocksville, North Carolina were charged with conspiring to distribute cocaine base in Davie County, prosecutors announced on Monday.

Malinda York, 46, and Bobby Lee Mabe Jr., 38, allegedly conspired to distribute 5 grams or more of crack cocaine between June 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009. Mabe was also charged with being an unlawful user of controlled substances while possessing firearms. York was also indicted with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

If convicted, both defendants face a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison for the drug conspiracy charge. Mabe could be also sentenced to up to 10 years’ imprisonment for his other charge. York faces a possible maximum penalty of 25 years in prison for her other two charges.

Both Mocksville residents are awaiting trial scheduled in April for Mabe and in May for York.
