Missouri man sentenced to nearly 6 years for methamphetamine operation

BENTON, ILLINOIS (BNO NEWS) – A Sikeston, Missouri man was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment, nearly 6 years, for one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Courtney Cox announced on Tuesday.

Wade L. Griffin, 25, and eight co-defendants were arrested for their roles in a methamphetamine conspiracy between December 2005 and May 2009 based in Jackson, Williamson and Franklin Counties, Illinois.

Three of the defendants have already been sentenced while the remaining four are awaiting sentencing. One man pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

The investigation is a result from the Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative for the Southern District of Illinois, which main goal is to remove illegal guns and drugs from communities.
