July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A fifteen year old boy’s family has a lot to be thankful for today as their son rests in a New Zealnd hospital after falling 16 stories from the balcony of the family home onto the concrete floor below.

According to the media in New Zealand, reports released on Monday stated that the unidentified boy was playing on the balcony, just before he fell. He dropped several feet, and crashed through the roof of a parking garage that was built under the balconies of the apartments above. He landed on the un-giving concrete floor of the garage, miraculously still alive.

He was taken to the Auckland Middlemore Hospital and was said to be suffering from a broken wrist, a broken rib, a gash on his leg, and some internal injuries, according to the New Zealand Herald. Although these injuries are quite painful, the boy is very blessed to be alive.

According to the newspaper report, his fall may have been slowed down by the roof of the parking garage, which was made of sheet metal, and filled with insulation. Regardless, the fact that he has survived this type of fall from such a height is nothing short of a miracle.

Kaa Wehi, a housekeeper, who was working in the building at the time that the boy fell, told the newspaper, “God must have been with him. He’s got an angel looking after him, that’s for sure.”
