Millard South High School Shooting Leaves One Dead, Shooter Robert Butler Jr. Kills Himself

roJan 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Wednesday, a student of Millard South High School in Omaha shot two school officials and himself. The law enforcement officials identified the shooter as Robert Butler Jr. who was the son of a police detective Robert Butler. Omaha police chief Alex Hayes told that the student was later found dead in a car away from the school. The student was 17 years old.

The law enforcement officials reported that Robert Butler Jr. shot Millard High School vice principal Vicki Kasper and the principal Curtis Case. Both of them were taken to Creighton University Medical Center. Vice Principal Vicki Kasper, who suffered multiple bullet wounds lost her battle with life and passed away in the evening and doctors say that the principal is in stable condition now. Police said that the 17 year old boy died in an self inflicted wound. However, they are still investigating why Robert Butler Jr. took such a drastic step. The school was locked down after the incident.

Laura Olson, a student told a reputed media source that she was just having her lunch at the cafeteria, when the principal of h school came to the room and asked everyone to go the kitchen. She said that it was evident from the principal’s body language that something was wrong as he was “yelling” and “waving his arms”. The law enforcement officials said that they received 911 call at around 12:50 pm. Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle expressed strongly criticized the whole rampage and expressed his condolence at the unfortunate demise of the vice principal. In his statement, he said that everyone needs prayers and hugs at the moment. However, media outlets report that Robert Butler Jr. took to social networking to apologize for the “evil” that he would be doing later as he would affect “lives of the families” and ruin them.
