Fairfax County Parkway, Springfield, Virginia, Oct. 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 47 year old Mike Merrill and 42 year old Jeanne Merrill lost their lives while on the highway, leaving behind four daughters to fend for themselves. They were declared dead on the spot, but by God’s grace the three kids traveling in the back seat along with the parents, were released from the hospital with just minor injuries.
According to the sources, the deceased, were traveling in their car, a 2004 Honda pilot and were headed north, when another Toyota Corolla [also headed north] lost control and hit the Honda Pilot minutes before reaching Rolling Road at 5 p.m on Saturday. The accident, apparently caused by the weather and heavy rain had both these vehicles, in turn, hit two other southbound vehicles. The investigation is still in progress.
According to friends, the couple was returning from Bertucci’s after a dinner, but the investigators ruled out alcohol being the cause of the accident, which took a total of 4 lives. The Merrills had four girls aged 13, 3, 1, and another 9 year old staying with their friends. The three girls traveling with their parents were rushed to the Inova Fairfax Hospital but later released with minor injuries. Jeanne, served as a consultant in Booz Allen Hamilton and was reportedly dedicated to her kids, who will now be in the care of her sister and attending the funeral services that will be held on Thursday at the St Bernadette’s parish.
According to the authorities, charges are likely to be filed, but they failed to disclose the person who may file them, or even against whom the charges will be slapped.
