Micah Pate’s body found near Loosahatchie River bottoms
May 3rd, 2009 - 3:22 am ICT by GD ( 2 comments )In yet another gruesome murder case, Micah Pate’s body was found out by the police. 26 years old, Micah Pate was a Bartlett resident of Tennessee. She lived with her husband. On the 30th of April she left her home at around 8.30 for her daily jogging routine. She was reported missing by her husband when she did not return home at 10.30 p.m. Thomas Pate, Micah’s husband, claimed that she had left the house at 8.30 p.m. but she did not return home at 10.00 p.m., which was the time by when she would be back home.
Thomas Pate called up the police and said that she had not returned home by the usual time. The police found out that Micah had left her cell phone, purse, keys and her vehicle at her home. After a thorough investigation it was found out that Thomas had actually murdered his wife when Thomas broke down and confessed that he had murdered his wife.
Before the confession, the police had not suspected any foul play but they continued with the investigation. Thomas’ confession came as a shocker since he was the one to call the police about Micah’s disappearance. Thomas Pate broke down under intense interrogation and confessed to having killed his wife. He also told the police that they would find the body around the Loosahatchie River bottoms. The body was recovered late Friday night at the same location mentioned by Thomas. The police are yet to discover the real motive. Thomas Pate is under police custody but no charges have been placed on him as yet.

To the family, it isn’t “yet another” murder case. She was a real person, with real friends and family. I am saddened that the author has become so desensitized to bad news that this just becomes old hat. Please try to remember that each case is a fresh wound.

This is so sad to hear about. Micah’s mother teaches where I attended school and I had her for a class and she talked about her children so much and would show us pictures and keep us up to date what was going on in their lives….I can’t imagine what her mom is going through……
