portrait37Jan 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) January 7 saw the Miami Valley being hit with snow fall and the accumulation was expected to be around four inches. The snow was moving form the west to the east, blowing into Butler, Darke and Preble from the state of Indiana. Even more recently, the whole state of Florida has been experiencing chills to such an extent that could be claimed to be exotic or rather native. On Saturday, the weather man warned that the temperatures would fall even further. Disney World is now experiencing snow flurries. Oakland Park and Kendall’s Town was reported to have ice pellets, but these reports are unconfirmed. The current Miami weather is 2 degrees with a wind blowing at 16 km/hour. The humidity ranges somewhere around 67%.

People have wondered for ages if South Florida could experience snow fall like its Northern counterpart often does. The fact was yes it could but the instances were unlikely. In the history of the place, or rather the recorded history, the place has experienced snow only once back in January 19, 1977. That was Miami’s one and only snowfall and was made up of “light flurries”.

Those people who are not accustomed to cold weather, could exhale a sigh of relief since their local weatherman forecasts a less chilly week ahead. Sunday could have been the worst, with the temperature falling as low as 2 degrees but the further probability of that is quite low. The coldest it could get in Miami, this week, is around 7-8 degrees. Very few people who are happy about this cold winter includes scientists who are expecting the cold to eradicate some python problems they have been experiencing.
