Nevada, Sep 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) MGM Resorts came in defense of the safety practices after a video showing a lion attacking its trainer surfaced in the web. The incident that has sent shock waves among the viewers took place at the Las Vegas, Nevada facility of MGM Grand. Luckily the trainer of the enraged beast survived the attack and he was taken to a hospital. Later he was released from the hospital as well. The incident was admitted by Gordon Absher, a spokesman for MGM Resorts. In the video that is now available on many websites by now two trainers are seen with a lion and another lioness in the location. The hotel gets a lot of footfall owing to the animals.

The Lions were not irritated from the beginning and on the contrary they appeared calm and at peace. The lion attacks a trainer after some time as is seen in the footage and the other trainer helps him to escape the attack. MGM on its part described the attack as a stray incident and maintained that it adheres to the standard safety practices in its premises. The incidents of wild animals attacking are not uncommon though such incidents not take place on regular basis. The lion attack incident was caught on camera by two honeymooning couple.

The reason for the attack is yet to be known. The trainer was not a stranger to the animal and that is not the reason why it got angry. The video has already been seen by many people and the viewers have posted their reactions and feedbacks on the social networking accounts.
