Mexico drug violence ‘kills 13′
February 1st, 2010 - 1:56 am ICT by BNO NewsCIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO (BNO NEWS) — At least 13 teeneagers were killed and eight were injured on Sunday morning after drug hitmen stormed a party, media reports say.
One of the teens killed, witnessed a multiple homicide days ago, according to El Diario newspaper.
Hitmen arrived in seven cars, blocked the streets and stormed the house, the newspaper said. Two of the killed were shopping at a grocery store nearby. When the police and the Army arrived at the scene, they were confronted by angry residents.
Mexico is embroiled in a war with drug cartels since President Felipe Calderon took office in 2006.
