Mexican Drug lord’s wife gives birth to twin babies

Emma Coronel reportedly gave birth to two baby girls at a hospital in Los Angeles and has since returned to Mexico. She is the wife of Joaquin Guzman who is the head of the powerful Mexican drug cartel organization, The Sinaloa cartel.
The Los Angeles Times reported on Monday that law enforcement officials tracked the movements of Coronel as she entered the United States through the Mexican border. Coronel who holds US and Mexican passports is a former beauty queen. She is 22 years old and with the birth of her child in the United States, the children will also hold dual citizenship by default.
The newspaper report stated that the birth certificate of the twins listed the name of the mother as that of Emma Coronel but the father’s name has been left blank. The babies were reportedly delivered at the Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster on the 15th of August. The mother and the babies have since returned to Mexico.
Guzman controls a multibillion drug cartel which is regarded as one of the biggest in the world. Mexico is home to some of the biggest drug cartels in the world.
