Manila, Philippines, Aug 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A fatal car accident has reportedly claimed the life of Binibining Pilipinas titlist Melody Gersbach and two other persons who were traveling in red Toyota Innova that was rammed from behind by a Guevarra bus at around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning. The accident took place at Bula town, Camarines Sur. Although at the beginning, the police was unsure of the identity of the persons killed in the vehicular accident, it was later confirmed that Melody Gersbach, the 2009 Binibining Pilipinas titlist, her makeup artist Alden Orense and her driver, Santos Ramos Jr. had died in the accident. The only passenger to have survived the car accident was Ronald Lita, a friend of Melody Gersbach. Reports claim that four passengers in the bus were hurt in the accident.

The Police said to media sources that the red Toyota Innova was traveling along a highway in Sitio Banas, Barangay Pawili when it was struck from behind by a speeding Guevarra bus. Initial reports claimed that the bus ran over the car and went on to ram on a tree along the highway. The police has identified the driver of the bus as Wilson Pontillas. The driver has reportedly surrendered to the police in Pili town.

The family of Melody Gersbach is shocked by the sudden death of the Binibining Pilipinas titlist. The body of Melody Gersbach was brought to the local funeral parlor where her father and boyfriend were found waiting to receive the body. As per reports, her family members want to bring the body to Legazpi City, her home town. Stella Marquez-Araneta, Chairperson of Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. issued a statement mentioning the organization’s “sincerest condolences and prayers” to the family.
