Mega millions jackpot split into two winners
January 5th, 2011 - 11:17 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattIdaho, Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Two “extremely” lucky guys have hit the jackpot. They are going to share one of the biggest jackpot in the history of the United States.
The two men whose identities have not yet been released by Mega Millions will share a whopping $355 million. They hit the jackpot on Wednesday with the winning numbers; 4, 8, 15, 25, 47 and a mega ball number of 42. Their odds were one in 176 million and they did hit it. What is however clear is that one of the men is in Washington while the other is in Idaho.
The jackpot is not easy to win. In fact to win the jackpot, you must be incredibly lucky because after getting all the five numbers, you must still get the mega ball to win the jackpot. However if the five numbers drop minus the mega ball, you can still win something.
That is exactly what happened to some sixty-seven players who bought tickets. They each won $250,000.
This is not the biggest jackpot win in the history of the United States. The biggest was won in 2007 when two men from Georgia and New Jersey shared $390 million in Mega Millions.
