McDonalds snake wrestling incident leads to the arrest of 2 men
September 10th, 2010 - 12:29 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattMelbourne, Sep 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Two men have been arrested in Australia for stealing a python and a lizard from a pet shot.
The arrested men consist of a 22 year old and a 24 year old. However the police did not name them. The men were arrested after they were seen struggling with the 1.5 meter long black headed python at a McDonald’s car park on Wednesday.
The python was later identified as an 8-year-old Boris from the ‘Totally Reptile’ pet shop. Police are yet to retrieve the lizard that is also got missing from the shop on Tuesday.
It was not immediately clear why the men brought the snake to the car park and started wrestling with it, in full glare of all the customers. The men have been charged with burglary and they have already been arraigned before court.
Police have returned the snake to the owner - Jodie Graham. Jodie owns the pet shop from where the pair stole the reptiles. Jodie told reporters that when she got Boris back, that she was relieved. She said the snake was a bit cold and stressed. She told reporters that she has already taken the constrictor to a tank and he was warming up.
The snake is native to northern Australia. The animal is non-venomous and only bite when it is hunting for a prey.
