Sep 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A woman who got caught dumping a cat into it’s owners wheelie bin has been charged with animal cruelty after she was seen on the security camera, dumping the cat into the bin.

Forty five year old Mary Bale was charged for causing the unnecessary suffering of the cat and for not putting the animal into a suitable environment. Her actions are considered not only cruel by moral standards, but also under the 2006 Animal Welfare Act.

Bale worked at the Coventry Bank, and made headlines all over the world with her cruel actions when a video (seen below) hit the Internet, and animals lovers everywhere united in a huge international campaign against the woman.

Bale can be seen in the video luring the cat, and stroking it lovingly as she looks around. She quickly picks the animal up and shoves it into a “wheelie bin” (in American it’s those green outside trash cans used to take garbage to the road). The poor tabby named Lola was said to have been in the bin for 15 hours before her family noticed her missing.

The perpetrator was found after the owners got the video from the neighborhood surveillance tapes, and posted it on YouTube and Facebook in hopes that someone would recognise her. Bale defended her actions, and stated the she “did not deserve to be hated” for her moment of madness.
