Washington DC, Nov 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The United States Marine Corps, which were formed during the American Revolution to fight for independence at sea and on shore, is all set to celebrate its 234th birthday on Nov. 10.



The celebration will include the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball that was first formally started in 1925.This year it will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.



The gala birthday celebrations to mark the 234th Marine Corps Birthday have been formally planned in Lawrence and around two hundred Marines are expected to be present for the joyous occasion. Marine Corps Mobilization Command’s assistant chief of staff, Col. Ivan Glasco would grace this joyous 234th birthday occasion as the premier keynote speaker.

Every year, the celebration is held at Lawrence and is well attended by several high profile people belonging to this community. One of the Marine veterans, Erv Hodges referring to the Lawrence celebration said, “It’s short. And it’s a remembrance.”
