robberyTwo people who are alleged to be the suspects in a robbery heist that took place in Manteca is said to have been taken in to custody by the police. The armed robbery heist had happened at a Bank of America branch that stands on East Yosemite Avenue. Fortunately, no one is reported to have been hurt in the incident.

The police is said to have received a 911 call from inside the bank’s premises, that had alerted them of the robbery. When officers had emerged at the bank, they spotted two men running away from the bank, across a nearby alleyway. They were chased and cornered. The situation led to a tough standoff, that arose between the cops and the armed suspects, outside a duplex located at 129 S. Lincoln Ave. The stand off carried on for quite sometime (nearly about 12 hours) and eventually came to an end with the two finally getting caught by the police.

The names of the suspects have not been released yet. It is reported, that one of them had been taken in to custody earlier and the second one had continued to wage a hard fight against the officers. However, at about 10:40 p.m., on Friday, after remaining in hiding for hours at a stretch in an attic, the second robbery suspect was caught. He had to be transported to a hospital immediately, because he had received dog bites.

The spokesman for the Manteca police, Rex Osborn said, “He was hiding out as long as he could until the dog got him.”
