mexico hijackAccording to the sources, the Mexican police has arrested a man who allegedly hijacked a plane(Aeromexico flight 576) comprising of 104 passengers for a couple of hours, claiming that he actually wanted to warn the president Felipe Calderon of an impending earthquake.

The security forces broke inside the plane as they initially though that they were as many as five hijackers on board, but later on discovered that there was only one on board.

Genaro Garcia Luna, Mexico’s Public Safety Secretary reportedly said that the alleged 44 year old Bolivian man named Jose Flores, who reportedly attempted to hijack the flight is actually a preacher who lives in Mexico.

According to sources, Flores reportedly said that he decided to hijack the flight after he had received a word from from God that he had to save the Mexicans from an impending earthquake. Flores reportedly told the media that he had a “revelation that Mexico was facing a great danger and was threatened by an earthquake”.

Sources said that the passengers who were traveling from the beach resort of Cancun to Mexico city were unaware of the fact that Flores was trying to hijack the flight. Several minutes of negotiations followed between the pilot and Flore until the plane was smoothly grounded.

Confusion surfaced when Flores told a flight attendant that the juice can he was carrying was a bomb. Thereafter, Flores kept the passengers and the crew on the tarmac for over an hour. The flight was surrounded by heavily gunned police men. The airport was reportedly kept open throughout the course of the incident.

“He said that he wanted to speak to the president for three months, but since there has been no answer he decided to take this path,” said the pilot. Flores has been arrested and kept under custody.
