November 1st, 2010 - 9:55 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattSydney, Nov 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A female diving guide was in hot waters when she suffered a shark attack. The shark had bitten her badly on the thigh and on the buttocks as well. However she managed to have a miraculous escape because of the efforts of one of her unnamed benefactors.
An unidentified man rushed to her aid and pulled the tail of the shark so that the victim – Elyse Frankcom could head to safety. According to reports Elyse was swimming when a shark attacked her and soon another swimmer rushed to her aid. Onlookers say that Elyse had started to slide to the bottom because of her various injuries and if help had not rushed in then she would certainly be dead.
The benefactor didn’t just stop at grabbing the tail of the shark. He also saw that Elyse was sinking to the bottom so he went over and took hold of her body and brought her to safety as well.
Frank Pisani, who is a senior skipper for Fremantle Sea Rescue and also one of the witnesses, said that, “It had brushed him aside - and he’s a fairly large male - as it attacked the young woman. So he grabbed its tail and this caused the shark to swim away.“
