Man plunges to his death from London’s Tate modern gallery

London, July 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A man has plunged to his death from the Members Rooms of the Tate Modern Gallery. The accident happened on Tuesday evening at around 6 pm.

The gallery was choc a bloc with tourists and they were all shocked to witness this accident. London is hosting the Olympics and so, the city is full of tourists and most of them are sightseeing before the start of the games.

After the accident, the police officials were called in and an ambulance was also called. The man who jumped from the sixth floor was said to be in his late 40’s and he was pronounced dead at a little over 6pm.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that, “Police were called at approx. 17:55hrs on Tuesday 24 July to the Tate Modern following reports of a man fallen. Officers and LAS [London Ambulance Service] attended. The man, believed to be in his late 40s, was pronounced dead at 18:08 hrs. Officers believe they know the man’s identity but await formal identification. Next of kin are yet to be informed. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.”

It is yet to be determined whether it was an accident or a suicide.
