BOISE, IDAHO (BNO NEWS) – A man was detained as a suspect of an armed robbery case in Mountain Home, Idaho, local authorities said Tuesday.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. local time, an officer with the Mountain Home Police Department was flagged down by an individual near Albertsons who stated that he had just been robbed at gun point.

James Michael Cyr was detained around thirty minutes later by a Mountain Home Police Officer, who made a traffic stop in the Wal-Mart Parking lot. Cyr fit the description of the armed robber, described by the victim as wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark sweat pants and had a shaved head, and driving a tan colored vehicle.

He was taken into custody without incident, and a knife was recovered and believed to have been used in the robbery, though no gun was found.

Cyr had a warrant for his arrest in connection with a violation of his parole, which began in May 2009. He is currently in custody within the Elmore County Detention Center.
