Male model Charles Devoe dies while surfing

The accident left the 28-year–old in coma for a month. His agency announced his death. He died on Friday after being in coma since the 12th day of November.
Devoe had a bright future ahead of him as a model. He modeled for Vogue Nippon, Numero Homme, V, Anne Klein and Buffalo Jeans when he was alive.
The accident that claimed Devoe’s life happened in the Rockaways. The famous model got his foot entangled on a wooden pole during surfing. Rescuers had to eventually cut him free but before they could do that, it took them several minutes. All the while, Devoe was in the water.
When Devoe was finally broken free, he was rushed to the hospital in the state of unconsciousness. Doctors determined then that his brain was swollen. His parents were at his bed side at the hospital. They had hopes that he would recover soon. However he relapsed afterwards and died later.
One neighbor said, “He never talked about his job. But he had that look, like he was a model or in pictures.”
