Malaysian Unmarried Couples Arrested On New Year’s Eve

couplesSelangor, Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The unmarried Malaysian couples who were enjoying the New Year’s eve with their partner in the hotel rooms of Selangor had never anticipated that their pleasurable moment would turn into a disaster of sorts. As multiple people prefer to spend this night with their partner, the officials of the Selangor State Islamic Department had decided to raid on the budget hotels of the region and arrest people, who were engaged in such illegal activities.

As per the reports, the Shariah law of the Islamic society prohibits unmarried couples to stay together in a closed room and fifty-two couple, who were arrested from the hotels had violated the law. It has also been reported that the unmarried couple, who were arrested from the hotels mostly included students and young factory workers. Though most of the couples arrested were young, reports indicated that there was one elderly couple too. It has been reported that a lady of above fifty years was found with another man from the hotel room.

The couples, who were arrested faces the charge of sexual misconduct, might receive imprisonment sentence with some financial penalty, if the charges against them are proved. The news of this arrest have alerted the youths of the country, who had the desire to be intimate with their partners before marriage. Officials have not declared the identity of the couples, who were involved in the act. They have not yet made any comment on the progress of the case and the penalty that they would have to bear for violating the law.
