Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme Ready To Be Released From Prison
August 6th, 2009 - 7:37 pm ICT by GD
Federal Bureau of Prisons revealed that Lynette Squeaky Fromme is ready to be released shortly on August 16th.
When CNN interviewed her in 1987, she is recorded as having said “the president had his hands out and was waving ….and he looked like cardboard to me. But at the same time, I had ejected the bullet in my apartment and i used the gun as it was.” Accused of having pointed a gun at the then President Gerald Ford in Sacramento, California she was stopped from shooting at him and had been discovered with a ammunition clip. It has been 34 years since the incident occurred and even though she said that she had no regrets, she would never think of ever repeating such stupidity. Her idol Charles Manson abandoned who was reportedly his own family is in prison. She admits that she was naive enough not to be aware that she could land in prison. Fromme was 26 when she attempted to assassinate the President. She said she attempted the plan as she “wanted to get some attention for a new trial” for Manson and the “family” members.
A .45 caliber was used for the operation. John Virga the defendant attorney for Fromme said “My argument to the jury was,if she wanted to kill him ,she would have shot him”. She was eligible for parole in 1985 but was not granted parole until July 2008. She chose to be imprisoned even though she got a right to parole long back. She was nicknamed Squeaky by Manson.
When Manson got sick and was rumored to be dying of cancer, she reportedly tried to escape from prison but got caught.
