Lucas Ransom’s Mother Remembers Her Dead Son

Oct 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The gruesome death of Lucas Ransom the 19 year old boy in California has left his friends and family shell shocked. The teenager got bitten fatally by a shark while Surf Beach west in Lompoc and died within a few minutes while he was surfing with his friend Matthew Garcia. The weather was just fine and the two teenagers had no idea what was in store for them. Before taking the plunge into the water the teenager had a talk with his mother over his cellphone. Little did he know that it would be his last ever talk with his mother! His mother Cadence Ransom remembered with sheer grief the last words of his son. She said in her statement that her son had “the sweetest heart”.
The teenager had been surfing in the waves close to a hour when the shark attacked him. The shark appeared all of a sudden thus giving him no scope to save his life. Matthew Garcia who was by his side at that time said it was a large shark almost 20 feet long. He understood the danger and cried out for help before the animal dragged him below the water surface. The shark bit off his left leg and he lost a lot of blood. His friend did manage to get him to the shore and also tried saving him by applying chest compression. The ill fated teenager died before medical help could reach him.
It is not known what species of shark had attacked Lucas Ransom. However it is being assumed that it could be a Great White shark.
