quake Los Angeles was hit by an earthquake of small magnitude on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Although not very great in magnitude, the earthquake was widely felt in Los Angeles.

According to the Geological Survey of the United States, the earthquake measured 3.6 in the Richter Scale.

It had started in the coast off Santa Monica, about four miles to the west of Redondo Beach.

The earthquake originated at a depth of about eight miles, according to the Geological Survey of the United States. The earthquake hit at about 2:17 in the morning.

Thankfully, though, no damages were registered, neither any loss lives. A tsunami warning has not been issued, owing to the mild nature of the quake.

According to the scientists, it is not surprising that the earthquake did not cause any damage, neither major nor minor, as quakes of his magnitude do not have the potential of causing any damage.

However, they asserted that quakes measuring about this magnitude are very often felt in the area, as the region is an earthquake prone zone, but that there is no reason to panic if an earthquake this mild strikes. However, this was not the only quake that struck Los Angeles, which was hit by a series of tremors in different times of the day.

While the quake on Sunday was felt in central Los Angeles, yet another was felt in about two miles east of Baldwin Hills, again in Los Angeles, at about 4:33 in the morning.

It is possible that it was an aftershock of the first one. Simultaneously, another 3.0 quake was felt in Culver City. No damages were reported from these areas either.
