London, Feb 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Broadcasters in Britain are very ecstatic with the idea of screening the royal wedding in 3D.

The royal wedding is going to be held this year on the 29th day of April. Subsequently, the broadcasters are discussing whether they could cover the event in 3D. The final decision on that will have to be made by the royal family.

The chief operating officer of one of the broadcasters, BSkyB told reporters that he is optimistic that the event could be captured in 3D.

Mike Darcey said, “We’re optimistic, we’re hopeful that we can persuade them (the royal family) this will be a good thing.” He however warned that rather than the broadcasters, it was the Buckingham Palace that will have the final say on the decision.

The coverage of the royal wedding has been a major issue. Since the date of the wedding was announced last year, broadcasters from all over the world have been meeting and discussing how to cover the event.

3D is a new technology that is being implemented in visual media. The first major event where the technology was used was during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
